Happy Endings, New BeginningsEmma (formerly M&M, Grandma Smokey)Hi Barb: Just thought I'd let you know that Emma, formerly M&M, and I have bonded. She's adjusted very well to her new surroundings and me...like we're long lost buddies! She's everything she was made out to be..lovable, affectionate and she follows me around like she's my shadow. She enjoys sitting in the window and checking out the new sounds and occasional birds that fly by. She & I are loving life!! She sleeps next to me at night and is on my lap a good part of the day...purring and licking my hand. Her appetite is very good (Fancy Feast) and she's had normal litter box activity. Everything is going like I imagined it would. She's checked out every square inch of the apartment including the kitchen counter, dinning room table top, dressers and bathtubs. She and I even play with a couple of new toys I bought for her. And she does love to be brushed! Thanks again for offering me such a wonderful opportunity with my new found friend. Update: August 9, 2008 Hi Barb: I just wanted to let you know that Emma and I have now been in White Plains for about 1.5 months and everything is going well. She has taken to her new surroundings wonderfully! She's been wearing me out wanting to play all the time and she's very active (kitten syndrome). She's much like Celine in that regard. She sleeps by my side and on my back once in awhile during the night. Emma has also developed a need to sit on the sink when I'm shaving or brushing my teeth too! And, like Celine, she's waiting by the door when I return from running errands. It's almost "creepy" how these two are so much alike!! Emma even tested our medical alarm system the other day..to see if it works?? It DOES!! I had a fire truck and ambulance here to verify that. She apparently saw the cord and decided to pull/play with it?? Not good...but I get 3 false alarms a year without being penalized monetarily. Again, I just wanted to touch base and let you know that we're doing well. I couldn't have found a better companion..one that you have a personal interest in. She's in good hands and being well cared for. She's probably gained 2 lbs. since May, but I 'm not complaining. I love her company and she loves mine..especially when I brush her. Thanks again for connecting the two of us and the wonderful and heartfelt story you wrote about our union. We both wish you the very best in life...you deserve it. Sincerely, Vince |
