"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by
the way its animals are treated" Gandhi

Hi from Boog

Well it has been a year since I came to my forever home and I thought it was a good time to say hi to my friends at SMAWL. It’s been a very event filled year for me. Just about as soon as I came into my new home, my mommy took me to basic obedience class at Petco. I had quite a few of the basics already mastered, so I aced this class for sure. We were going to the dog park frequently until it all of a sudden got very dark very early. Fortunately we then found Chesapeake Pet Spa and I’ve been going there for doggie daycare twice a week since. It is always fun to hang with other dogs.

Speaking of other dogs, I got a wonderful surprise one day. I came home from daycare and bee bopped up the steps from the garage into the house and WHAT?!? Another dog!!! I immediately went over and introduced myself. Her name is Pebbles. She was at the Tri-County Animal Shelter until she found our forever home. We became immediate friends and play with each other all the time in our fenced in back yard. It is so nice to have a doggie companion in my own home.

Once Pebbles came, we did basic obedience class. Since I was already a star, I kind helped show Pebbles the ropes. After that, we took Level 1 Agility Class. That was so much fun. We both especially love the A-frame. Going up and over and down the other side was surely tail wag worthy. Next up for me was Canine Good Citizen class. Although I failed the first time (darn loose leash thing) I did far better then my beagles on their first try. While I was going to CGC, Pebbles went to tracking class. Some time later we’ll flip flop and I’ll do tracking while Pebbles does CGC. I’ll get my second try at passing the CGC test when Pebbles takes her test. In the interim, we’re back at Agility Level 2.

I want to thank St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League for taking such good care of me when I was in foster care and for finding me such a great forever home. As you can see, there always something going on here. Being a dog and living in the here and now I can’t begin to guess what new adventures await but I’m sure they will be fun, fun, fun.

Your, Beagle Buddy,
Boog
