Princess & Gypsy Rose

PrincessGypsyRose

These two were surrendered when their loving owner could no longer care for them due to medical issues. Thankfully SMAWL was able to take them in and provide peace of mind for their owner that they would be cared for.

While in foster care, the pair was taken to visit a local nursing home and spent time visiting residents every room and the rec room. They were naturals!

So many of the residents miss their animals and were so happy to see them. Gypsy Rose and Princess put smiles on so many faces. It was heartwarming to say the least.

Everyone fell in love and they became permanent residents of the nursing home. Everybody wins!

Recently it was discovered that Gypsy Rose had a tumor on her spleen the size of a cantaloupe. SMAWL was able to offer financial assistance so that she could get the much needed surgery.  Her surgery was on October 27th and went well. They removed a 2-pound tumor! She is recovering well with no complications. Results of the biopsy have not come in yet, but we hope all they are negative and she will continue to live a wonderful happy life.
