Thank You - Rocky

Would you please share my thanks with the Board for the lovely flowers. That was very thoughtful and kind of you all.

I am doing much better now. The last few weeks were difficult as I watched Rocky’s health declining. On a pawsitive note, it’s refreshing to know that the neglect he encountered four years ago was not his demise, but rather it was natural causes. Had it not been for the jaw, he may not have been so frail and would have been able to withstand further tests to determine exactly what it was, but that most likely would not have changed things in the end anyway. They suspect it was cancer in the chest region as his lungs had filled with fluid and he had neurological damage on the right side. As fast as it was progressing, they most likely would not have been able to do anything any way.

So, in this case I AM going to dwell on the past. Rocky had a wonderful four years. He touched a lot of lives and his live was touched by a lot of people. He educated, he loved and he epitomized what SMAWL is all about; saving lives!

Rocky most likely had minutes left when we came upon him that day. He was emaciated, covered in fleas, and had a broken jaw. But other than that he was the perfect dog!
