SMAWL Offers Spay/Neuter Grants & Vouchers

Through the generosity of The Snyder Foundation for Animals and generous donations from our members SMAWL is able to provide Grants and Low Cost Vouchers to spay and neuter dogs and cats in our community.

• A Grant is a no cost spay/neuter service performed at the Well Pet Clinic located at 21800 N. Shangri La Drive, Lexington Park, Maryland 20653

• A Voucher is a low cost spay/neuter service performed at Tidewater Veterinary Hospital located at 30079 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622

• Grants & Vouchers can be applied for at one of our PETCO Adoption Events or at one of our Rabies Clinics.
  
  
• Only 5 Grants can be given at one time.
  
  
• In order to determine whether your animal is eligible for a Grant or a Voucher, we need the following information:
  
  • Is your animal is a dog or a cat?
  • Is your animal a male or female?
  • What is the age of your animal?
  • What is the weight of your animal?
    
    
• For the safety and welfare of your animal it is important that your animal’s weight and age are as accurate as possible.
  
  
• We will also need your current phone number and/or e-mail address.
  
  
• A Grant or Voucher will be available the Thursday after it’s given.
  
  
• Grants are good for 30 days after they are given.
  
  

We strive to help to control the pet overpopulation in our area by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals. In 2008 we were able to provide 232 spay and neuter grants. In 2009, we were able to provide 236 spay and neuter grants.
