Snowflake's Story

My New Forever Home

Snowflake - looking good after 2 months TLC

I am at my new forever home. Yes, that's right. A kind young lady has adopted me. She will be my guardian for the rest of my life.

I was at my foster home for a little over 2 months. Below is the last photo of me at my foster home. This photo was taken exactly 2 months after I arrived at my foster home and just a few days before I left for my new forever home.

My new family has other horses, so I am never alone. My new family is experienced with horses. I am grateful to share life with these people and I know I will never go hungry again.

My foster parents said their good-byes privately. It may seem strange, but they thanked ME for entering their lives and teaching them about never giving up, about never feeling sorry for oneself, about living in the present and letting go of the past, about the need for companionship and the need to run free, about not worrying, about resiliance and about so many other things.

And so it goes.

THE BEGINNING

It broke my heart when we first learned about Snow Flake's initial condition, but that hurt has been replaced, a hundred times over, with love and appreciation. For without people like you, this world would never know of true kindness and unconditional love. You are amazing people and the world has been blessed because of you. I know Snow Flake will forever be grateful for you all, and I will forever be touched.
