Volunteer Network - News: Santa Picture Event, December 11, 2007

I wanted to send a special thank you to the volunteers that helped with our events this past weekend.

The Santa Pictures Event was a great success. Thanks go out to Jim Drunkenmiller (Santa himself), Steve and Anna Hassay, DeAnn and Sarah Adler, Megan White and Judy Cusic. Also thanks to Barb Whipkey and Joe Norris (the PETCO manager) for chipping in when things were kind of exciting at the beginning. I stopped by for a short time and it seemed like a really fun event. Thanks to these volunteers and PETCO, we were able to sell 100 photos and we will receive $500 from PETCO. This will go a long way to helping more animals in the coming year. Thank you so much for contributing your time.

The event at All Kinds Veterinary was also very successful. We had a great turn out and I wanted to thank Jenn & Judy Hunt & Michelle (our volunteers from the ARC), Steve Hassay (worked both events, wow!), Jean Coble, Dick Myers, Linda Foster, Kim Smith, Bev Norris, and Judy Cusic (showed for both events, too!). We had a SMAWL Miracle at the event. Casey the cat found her furever home and went home with her new mom and will be living with another kitty and two dogs. Great for Casey!!!

I hope I have not missed anyone, but if so, know that SMAWL really appreciates all that you did this weekend and what all of the volunteers do all year. You have made such a difference in the lives of so many animals. We look forward to even more success in 2008.
